In most respects the hotel was very good. Clean, comfortable. But.....
Staff were unfriendly and hardly spoke a word to us. Perhaps they spoke only French, but that is no good if you expect English visitors. We went out for an evening meal and when we returned at 10.00pm the hotel was locked up. Rather disconcerting! We had not been advised of the entry keypad code. We had to pound on a window round the back for quite some time before someone appeared to let us in. The breakfasts were OK, but again no staff were present so impossible to ask for a spoon etc! In short, nice hotel, but dismal service and lack of attention by the staff. No assistance offered with baggage handling up/down steep stairs. So this hotel is not recommended.

The room was quite cold - heating did not seem to be working.

Location excellent;walking distance to town and park, even for older visitors. Wonderful breakfast inclusive. Very clean and attractive.
Had to climb very many steps to our room;;difficult for older visitors. Limited choice of dinner menu, and expensive.
